Q. What is binding?
A. Binding is the trim around the top and bottom edge of your corset. It is satin in the colour of your choice.
Q. What is the difference between a custom corset and a ready made one?
A. A custom made corset is made from a pattern drafted using your measurements. It is made to fit you and to your exact specifications. Each item is hand made from start to finish using only quality materials. Ready made corsets are made to non-existent 'standard' sizes and are mass produced. They are created for looks only, and generally not made for true waist shaping. Items advertised as corsets are quite often simple basques or bustiers with plastic boning, no busk and no support.
Q. Can I use a corset to help with my diet?
A. A corset may help in that when tightened, your stomach is restricted, and you simply cannot eat as much food as usual. Though we do not recommend our corsets for dietary purposes, it may be a useful accessory along with correct diet and exercise.
Q. Aren't corsets uncomfortable?
A. No, our corsets should not be uncomfortable. Our corsets are designed to constrict the waist with a comfortable fit at the bust and hips. When wearing your corset, do not lace too tightly the first few times. Allow your corset to naturally mould to your shape and to get used the sensation of being constricted.
Q. Do you make corsets for plus sizes?
A. Yes. As all items are made to measure, we cater for all shapes and sizes at no extra charge.
Q. Do you make corsets for men?
A. Of course. All of our corsets can be made for men.
Q. How long will it take to get my corset?
A. At present, waiting times are around 6-8 weeks.
Q. How small can I make my waist?
A. We recommend a reduction of 2"-4" for first time corset wearers. Larger reductions can be accommodated, but please enquire first.
Q. How does payment work?
A. Payment can be made by personal cheque, postal order, cash, or Paypal. A minimum 50% deposit is required before any work can be started. Final payment must be made before any orders can be sent out.
Q. I have my own fabric. Can you use it to make a corset for me?
A. Yes, due to suitability. A small sample may be requested to check the suitability.
Q. What happens if I gain or lose weight before my corset arrives?
A. If you are planning any change in weight, please wait before ordering your corset. A major weight loss or gain can mean your corset will not fit as desired. Once work has been started, no refund will be issued.
Q. Why do your corsets cost more than ready made ones?
A. This is due to the amount of work involved, and the fact that each item is made to order. We start be drafting an individual pattern using your measurements, the pattern is cut, stitched, boned, grommeted and laced. This involves many hours of work, all by hand.
Q. I want a skirt to go with my corset. Can you make this for me?
A. We will be offering a few skirt styles for sale. Please enquire.
Q. I need my corset within a set amount of time. Can you do this?
A. We offer a rush service for a fee, for a guaranteed delivery time of 4 weeks.
Q. Do you sell wholesale?
A. As all our items are made to measure, we do not sell wholesale.
Q. Are your corsets suitable for medical purposes?
A. A corset will keep your back straight and may help ease back pain. Though we do not make and sell corsets specifically for medical purposes and advise you to consult your doctor before purchasing a corset for medical purposes.
Q. I'm waiting for my order but changed my mind. Can I cancel or change my order?
A. Once work has been started, we cannot issue any refunds. Depending how far along your corset is, you may be able to change certain aspects.
